English: There are over 50 cave churches in Macedonia, of which a good number are insufficiently explored, and due to the inaccessibility of the terrain and atmospheric influences, their study, as well as their protection, is difficult. The rocky outcrops to the Kališta Monastery hides in its hollow the cave of the St. Athanasius Church dedicated to the Alexandrian bishop Athanasius. |
