Упершыню пераклад Бібліі на каталянскую мову быў зьдзейсьнены паслоўным перакладам з франуцскай мовы на замову караля Альфонсо III (король Арагона) (1265—1291). Тэкст у гэтай копіі XV стагодзьдзя — пераклад з лацінскай Вульгаты з даданьнем пэўных фразаў і глёсаў з францускага перакладу.
English: This is a rare medieval copy of the Old Testament in Catalan. The decoration of the beginning of Genesis in this copy is closely related to one of the other surviving copies, now in Paris. The Bible was first translated into Catalan as word-by-word rendering from the French, commissioned by King Alfonso III of Aragon (Count of Barcelona) (1265-1291). The text in this fifteenth-century copy is a translation from the Latin Vulgate, although it incorporates certain phrases and glosses from a French translation. |
