Description
Українська: Будівля колишньої єврейської синагоги, початок ХХ століття, смт Сахновщина Харківської області У 1910 р. Сахновщина отримала дозвіл на вільне поселення євреїв. Станом на 1910 р. у населеному пункті налічувалося 33 єврейських родини, в 1926 - 150 чол., в 1939 - 60 чол. Левова частка торгових, промислових і сільськогосподарських об'єктів на початку ХХ ст. у Сахновщині належала саме євреєм. Два великих товарних млини (п'яти- і семиповерховий) були власністю євреїв-купців з Костянтинограда (нині м. Красноград Харківської області). У 1914 р. євреям належали єдина пивна і хлібні лавки в Сахновщині. Обидва лісопромисловці теж були євреями. Відтак існувала потреба у відкритті синаноги. На відміну від православної церкви, синагога не була храмом, це лише приміщення для громадської молитви. За юдейськими релігійними канонами, синагогою може бути будь-яке приміщення, яке було освячене за спеціальним обрядом. Синагога була відкрита до 1930-х рр. В листопаді 1941 р. в Сахновщині було розстріляно декілька десятків євреїв. У 2000-х рр. будівля колишньої синагоги слугувала відділенням зв'язку. Нині приміщення стоїть пусткою.
