Description
Українська: Художня поштова марка «Львівський національний університет імені Івана Франка. 350 років» (№ 1134).

Львівський національний університет імені Івана Франка – один із найстаріших у Східній Європі. Він створений на основі єзуїтської братської школи. Після неодноразових клопотань представників єзуїтського ордену король Ян ІІ Казимир 20 січня 1661 р. підписав диплом, який надавав колегії «гідність академії і титул університету» з правом викладання всіх тодішніх університетських дисциплін, присудження вчених ступенів бакалавра, ліценціата, магістра і доктора. Навчання в Львівському університеті велося за зразком інших європейських академій. Навчальний заклад будував і купував нові приміщення, мав свою бібліотеку, найбільшу у Львові друкарню.
