English: A disk of chromatographic paper (stationary phase, SF) is perforated in the center. At an equal distance from the hole, 2 µl of an alcohol extract from the knotgrass herb and 0.05% alcohol solutions of reference samples of flavonoids are dotted with a capillary, a wick of chromatographic paper is placed in the hole, and chromatography is performed in a chamber with a 15% solution of acetic acid (mobile phase, MF). In the process of chromatography, the compounds of the alcohol extract and reference samples of flavonoids move along the SF under the action of the MF flow and due to capillary forces, and having different affinities to the phases, at a certain moment are sorbed on the SF and stop moving further. Thus, the entire complex of extract compounds is separated in the form of arc-shaped zones with specific fluorescence color and Rf-factor value (the ratio of the distances travelled by compounds and by the MF), corresponding to similar indicators of reference samples.
