.English: Saturn's Tree
Another name - the tree of Paracelsus, in honor of the discoverer.) It has a structure similar in appearance to a plant or a tree, only the metal crystals. "Saturn's" from the name of the alchemical lead - "Saturn". This unusual tree is a crystalline lead to "grow" on the surface of zinc filaments in a chemical reaction. For more information: More active metal zinc recovers lead from an aqueous solution of a salt - lead acetate. If you omit the thread into a solution of zinc plate or purified fine sandpaper, then with time grow on the surface of zinc branched and shiny crystals fused together lead. Keep the tree should be careful not to allow physical impact on the vessel - crystals can crumble and collapse the tree. The tree is grown in the laboratory Inorganic Chemistry Institute of Chemistry of the Saratov State University. .English: Saturn's tree |
