Description
Русский: Научное название дерева – лириодендрон. Его размеры, конечно, поражают. Как говорит путеводитель, высота у него больше 30 метров, диаметр ствола 2,4 метра, а крона раскинулась аж на 27 метров! Цветет оно в мае цветками, похожими на тюльпаны, отсюда, собственно, и название. Считается, что это Тюльпановое Дерево посадил генерал Раевский в далеком 1840 году. У него тогда была идея – превратить черноморское побережье в дивный сад. Это должно было помочь избавиться от лихорадки, свирепствующей здесь. Деревья тогда сажали и солдаты, и сам генерал, но до наших дней почему-то дожило только одно.
English: this is a tall plant that is part of the Magnolia family that grows naturally in Eastern North America. In Russia Tulip tree acclimatized in subtropical Sochi on the black sea coast, where are used as components of landscape design. This fast-growing deciduous tree, average height of which is in the range from 25 to 36 metres. The height of individual representatives may exceed 50 meters, which is very typical for forests. Tulip tree crown is high. Young trees have a pyramidal shape, but with time becomes an oval shape. The diameter of the stem of the adult plant is of the order of 60-150 centimeters. The leaves of this tree are simple, alternate, green or light green color length from 12 to 20 inches. In autumn the leaves become Golden-yellow hue. The leaves have quite an unusual shape, resembling somewhat the flower of the Tulip. The flowers, in turn, similar to a flower, which, in fact, gave the name to the tree. This species is successfully cultivated in different countries, dominated by a temperate climate. North American Tulip tree common to the latitude of the capital of Norway – Oslo. In the southern part of the globe this kind of is grown in countries such as Uruguay, South Africa, Chile, Argentina, New Zealand and Australia. Tolerates urban conditions. It is recommended to create alleys and group plantings.
