Description
فارسی: بعضی علت نامگذاری روستا را موقعیت توپوگرافی آن می‌دانند، به طوری که نام اولیه این روستا «خور» به معنای جای گود بوده و این نام به «حفر» و سپس به «خفر» تبدیل شده‌است. همچنین دو امامزاده در این روستا است. روایت دوم کلمه خفر را برگرفته از خور یا غور می‌داند. غور یا غوری نام قبیله یا مردمان اولیه‌ای می‌باشد که در این محل سکونت داشته‌اند.

برخی نیز این لغت را برگرفته از گور یا گبر می‌دانند که خود آیینی قبل از اسلام را در منطقه معرفی می‌نماید.

روستای خفر به «عروس دنا» نیز معروف است.
