日本語:

輾子と磨
輾子は日本の杵又は上臼に相当し、磨は下臼に相当する役目を勤める農民の取入道具である、高粱でも粟でも磨の上に載せてそれを輾子で廻して殻皮を剥ぎ、又粉に砕くのもある、驢馬に目隠しをしてあるのは、めまひを起させぬ為ださうな、驢馬は全くよく盲従して居る、山東の或片田舎で支那人に誘拐された日本の女が、この驢馬代りに轆子を曳かせられて居たと云ふ話を、いつぞや聞いた事を想ひ起して嘸やつらかつたゞらうと考へた。
