舍利塔 （棲霞寺）

棲霞寺の有するこの石造五重の舍利塔は、實に江南第一の、否江南唯一の名塔として、佛敎藝術研究家に珍重されてゐるものである。｜高さ約五十尺、臺基の上には釋迦八相の彫刻があつて、其の八相の精巧なこと他に比なく、然も其の藝術が支那化せることに於て多大の注意を引くものである。｜塔の創建年代に關しては五代説と南唐説の二つあつたが、藝術家は多く南唐説を採り、少くも中唐以後の作なるべしとは一般の定説となつた。｜佛敎藝術を云謂する人の一度は必ず見るべき塔であらう。（一九二六・四・撮影）｜（印畫の複製を禁ず）
