開放されてから僅か四十年、この沃野一帶今は殘る隈なく耕された。人口四萬と稱せられる山城子が、一本町とは言へ日の出の勢で盛えるのも不思議はあるまい。西北には山脈を負ふも、東南一帶は沃野千里に連り、鐵道開通以來、市況は頓に殷盛を加へた。｜八年前馬賊の襲擊に遭ふて。市街の大半を燒かれたことも、世人は既に忘れてゐる。｜（一九三〇撮影）（印畫の複製を禁ず）
