虎頭の怪石 （大同）

丁字形道路の衝當りや、くの字形道路の曲り角、時には部落の入口に、齒をむいた虎の頭を冠した長方形の石に、この碑のやうな文字或は單に『石敢當』等と彫り込んだ同種の石を見ること屢々だ。｜民俗學から見たこの碑の起源はとまれ、今では單なる避邪招福の御呪だ。南北支那の何れにも見る民俗信仰の對象物だ。（一九三〇年撮影）（印畵の複製を禁ず）
