石炭を擔ふ大同の驢馬 （山西省）

大同には汽車も通じて居れば自働車も走つてゐる。だが、それは百姓は利用出來ない、百姓は驢馬を利用して、山の物畑の物を収獲して、大同の街に賣りに往く、この寫眞は、大同附近の山寨農夫等が、石炭を驢馬に擔せて大同に賣りに往くところで、いま煉ぶつた城壁の下の南門を潜らうとしてゐるのである一駄いくらで石炭を賣り、その金で反物を買ひ、盬を買ひして、残つた金で小供への苞として点心を買ひ、花簪を買ひして、蒙古への入日を見ながら、家路に驢馬を追ふ風景は實に閑かで大同の街の古さから來る悠長さを物語つてゐる。（印畫の複製を禁ず）
