中文（臺灣）：北投石是以臺灣的臺北地名-北投稱呼的放射性溫泉礦物，目前全球的發現地僅兩處，一處位於日本秋田縣的玉川溫泉，另一處即是臺北的北投溪，北投石自然保留區由臺北市政府劃定之溫泉博物館後的北投溪上游河段。北投溪發源地為地熱谷，使北投溪有大量的硫酸溫泉水，溪內的岩石經由長期浸泡於硫酸溫泉水中，高溫硫酸腐蝕下堅硬的安山岩表層經過白化，產生黏土礦物質吸附於溪水中之礦物質後，產生沉澱、結晶，其聚合狀結晶體即是北投石，此照片的拍攝點-北投溪瀧乃湯湯屋溪段為北投石分布集中地，1923年(大正12年)4月25日裕仁皇太子蒞臨北投時曾涉溪勘查，後來設立「皇太子殿下御渡涉紀念碑」，現在位於瀧乃湯湯屋的庭院內。 |
