具體描述：

多田榮吉為日據時期淡水街長，1919年創立「淡水興業組合」，鼓勵半農半漁的淡水人從事家庭副業。1930至1933年期間，被任命為第四任淡水街長，致力推動淡水道路建設、圖書館改建和開設學校等公共事業，對當年淡水的發展貢獻良多。
