中文（臺灣）：多田榮吉故居所在位置為淡水埔頂地區，早期該地區為淡水發展的邊緣地帶，較不為一般人所重視，甚至部分地區為傳統聚落墓葬位置。淡水開港之後，洋人因為商務或者其他原因來到淡水，對於居住上必然有所需求，埔頂地區在這樣的情形下，因為座落於五虎崗最低下的一崗位置，面對淡水河口，環境優美，成為洋人眼中適合居住的地方，大批的洋人住宅區便設置於此處。 |
