中文（繁體）：屏東孔子廟前身是「屏東書院」，「屏東書院」係嘉慶二十年（1815年）鳳山知縣吳性誠命歲貢生郭萃、林夢陽所建。建成之初因經費拮据，僅建築書院本體而無裝修彩繪圖樣，後經士紳協力勸捐，再添漆彩繪而使形制更加完備。日治初期引進新式學校，學院功能遂被取代，日明治二十八年（1895年），日人將書院改為孔子廟，祀大成至聖孔子，配祀四配及周子、二程子、張子、朱子五大宋儒。 |
