中文（臺灣）：昭和12年(1937)10月31日，桃園水利組合舉辦改組後第一次「桃園大圳慰靈祭」，此後每一年度都按慣例舉行慰靈祭，是當時桃園臺地上最重要的追思儀式。 祭文中提及：「在挖掘導水隧道的過程裡，因為險惡的地質環境，導致崩塌不斷發生而停工，後動工掘鑿，崩塌又持續的出現。瘴癘惡氣也在工程進行中威脅著施工人員的生命。」雖然只有短短數十字，卻讓人有一種身蒞其境的臨場感，彷彿看到土方不斷崩塌，挖掘者被埋在坑道的悲慘場景。在桃園大圳動工百年後讀之，仍令人為之動容。按祭文所記載的內文顯示，因工程而殉難的就高達90人，但是仍有眾多桃園民眾參與大圳工程而犧牲者，不為世人所知。 《桃園大圳慰靈祭祭文》是目前所知唯一保留下來的祭文，在民國108年(2019)10月才由《臺灣桃園農田水利會百年誌》公諸於世，是桃園大圳存世不多，極其罕見的珍貴史料，能令桃園農民與民眾得知日治時期桃園大圳建設過程的實況。 |
