Description
中文（繁體）：瀰濃東門樓位於高雄市美濃區永安路上，門樓緊依著美濃溪，水與門樓構成衛護昔日瀰濃庄聚落東側的防禦工事。東門樓具體創建年代已經難以考察，相傳是瀰濃庄民於乾隆20年(1755)間將村落既有的東柵門改建而成，日治初期(1895～)，毀於六堆義民軍與日軍交戰的砲火中，直至昭和12年(1937)間才由鍾春發等鄉紳、耆老發起重建為樓高二層、鋼骨水泥的現在形式。太平洋戰爭時(1941〜1945)，上層增設小屋並掛大鐘以為防空警報。民國39年(1950)間，當地居民拆除小屋與大鐘，仿傳統城樓形式而重修為今日的樣貌。門樓正面高懸「大啟文明」的橫額，乃是模擬再現出身瀰濃庄的黃驤雲於道光9年(1829)高中進士而在門樓的題字。民國89年(2000)5月，獲指定為古蹟加以保存。
English: Bordering the Meinong River, Minong East Gate was the defense installation on the east side of Minong Village. The original date of construction is unknown, but it is alleged that the existing gate at the east entrance was upgraded in 1937 by local merchants and dignitaries. It had been destroyed during a resistance revolt against the Japanese rulers in 1895. During the Pacific War, a small construction was added to the top in which a large bell was hung to be used as an air-raid alarm, but both the construction and the bell were removed after the war. The Gate was designated as a county-level Ancient Monument by the Kaohsiung County Government in May, 2000.
