日本語: 外国人に向けた日本のお土産ja:写真であるja:横浜 ja:アルバムの中の1枚。ja:明治時代初期に撮影されたja:磔と晒首の情景である。撮影者はja:フェリーチェ・ベアト。磔にされているのは惣吉（壮吉は誤り）という22歳の凶賊で、かつて奉公先の両替金を持って逐電したが、後に盗賊となって仲間一人と押し込み強盗に舞い戻り、泣き声を上げた旧主の息子を殺害。盗んだ金で飲み食いしているところを捕らえられ、主家殺しの重罪で磔にされたものである。仲間は刎首となったという（1976年『町田市史　下巻』PP.6～7）。なお刎首は非公開のため、手前の晒首は別件の罪人である。撮影場所は横浜の闇坂（くらやみざか、「鞍止坂」と書くこともある）ja:刑場と伝えられている。
