中文（臺灣）：馬賽在今蘇澳永榮里境內，在台2線與台2戊線交叉點的濱海公路旁，豎立了一座以馬為造型的社區圖騰，只不過馬賽地名由來與馬毫無關係。馬賽名稱出現在噶瑪蘭廳志：馬賽隘，距聽南三十里，在馬賽庄，通生番界，募丁十二名。日治時期安倍明義曾做過調查，其說馬賽為猴猴社番漁獵之地。有一說馬賽係凱達格蘭族Basay之族名，但根據語言學家李壬癸所做研究推測，馬賽應是指原住於北海岸三貂角一帶的凱達格蘭族巴賽亞族。而詹素娟則認為之所以稱為馬賽，乃因當地住有自稱為Bassaijos、Basaij的人。 馬賽地區原是隘墾集村聚落，1811（嘉慶16）年噶馬蘭設廳以後，溪南未墾埔地，分給三籍開墾，且限期開透，馬賽地區100餘甲土地，乃為補撥粵籍缺額埔地，此為漢人入墾馬賽之最早記載。現今馬賽地區經土地重劃，位居濱海線通往蘇澳及龍德工業區之交通要地，新馬路更是進入國道5號高速公路進出口處，使馬賽地區形成鄉街型態。 |
