English: 13 Kropotkinskiy Pereulok, one of Moscow architect Feodor Shekhtel’s (1859–1918) greatest Art Nouveau works. Built in 1902 for Alexandra Derozhinskaya, a wealthy textile-industry heiress, it housed the Australian Embassy from 1959 to 2001, and remains the official Residence of the Australian Ambassador. Русский: Дом № в Кропоткинском переулке, выдающийся образец московского модерна, был построен архитектором Фёдором Шехтелем (1859–1918) для Александры Дерожинской, наследницы текстильного магната, в 1902 г. С 1959 по 2001 гг. в особняке размещалось посольство Австралии, а ныне – официальная резиденция посла Австралии. |
