Description
English: Airey houses located on Scalford Road in the village of Eastwell, Leicestershire, England.Airey houses were a type of prefabricated house developed following the second world war. An Airey house is a type of prefabricated house built in post-WWII Great Britain, designed by Sir Edwin Airey. Many are now in a poor state of repair due to degradation of the materials. They are not generally mortgageable unless repaired and refurbished to certain standards. The two blocks of semi-detached houses photographed are in original condition. The left hand house of the further pair with the post box outside was at one time the village Post Office.
