| Description |
English: A view of the east facing elevation of the Shirehall from Market Avenue in the city of Norwich, Norfolk, England. The Shirehall and the adjacent chambers opened in 1822 and was built by William Wilkins. It housed a new courtroom which remained in service for 166 years until the present courts complex was opened at Bishopgate in 1988. For some time the Shirehall then became the home of the Royal Norfolk Regimental Museum, which opened in 1990 but has since moved to a permanent home within Norwich Castle. Currently the Shirehall houses the Norwich Study Centre. |
