Description
English: A funeral hatchment on the north wall of the nave inside Saint Peter and Saint Paul’s church in the parish of Honing, Norfolk, England. For Benjamin Cubitt II (baptised in 1673) of Honing Hall (son of Benjamin Cubitt I who purchased the manor of Honing in 1683), who married Elizabeth Cubitt, daughter of James Cubitt of Brumstead (or Brunstead), Norfolk. (Source: http://www.thepeerage.com/p68096.htm#i680952). Arms: Cubitt (Sable, a string bow full bent in pale an arrow in fesse point to the dexter argent) impaling Cubitt. Crest of Cubitt: An arm in armour embowed proper, garnished or, grasping an arrow gules, tipped and feathered argent (Source: Farrer, Edmund, The church heraldry of Norfolk: a description of all coats of arms on brasses, monuments, slabs, hatchments, &c., now to be found in the county. llustrated.
