| Description | 330-CFD-DN-SD-06-09220: Navy (USN) Admiral (ADM) Michael G. Mullen (left), CHIEF of Naval Operations (CNO), presents a Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal to USN Aviation Structural Mechanic First Class (AM1) Larry D. Cummins, Commander, Patrol and Reconnaissance Wing 2 (VPU-2), for heroic achievement in the rescuing of a 15-year-old girl. USN AM1 Cummins entered the water of the Ala Wai Canal in Honolulu, Hawaii (HI), in search of a car that went off a pier. He gained access to the vehicle, freed the unconscious occupant and returned her to shore where she received CPR and eventually made a full recovery, 1/20/2006.JO2 Ryan C. McGinley, USN.
