Description

After a night in Jeseník, I arranged for a taxi to take me the 30km or so to Malá Morávka. Line 312 from Bruntál to Malá Morávka closed to regular passenger traffic. Since then, some freight traffic has remained and for most years a Weekend/Public Holiday service during the Summer season.

Details for the 2019 season were late arriving as involves several parties both railway and local Government. The operation was contracted again to MBM Rail who charter in an old 4-wheeled coach and shunter loco. Having arrived in good time, a surprise to see a hired in class 730 loco no. 730639 which was drafted in because of a failure of the normal shunter. According to the Platform 5 publication "Czech and Slovak Railways" 2016 edition, the loco is owned by VVÚ Nováky who are responsible for the state military transport fleet.
