Description

Other than a very brief over the border hop to Tønder in 2017, this was my first visit to Denmark since 1997. Having flown in to Denmark at Billund Airport, a 30 minute bus ride takes you to Vejle on the main Aarhus to København line. This was the start of a 5 day visit to Scandinavia mainly concentraing on Noway but to take in both the Øresund Bridge link from Denmark into Sweden then a long 16 hour overnight to Storlien. And thrown in for good measure was a chance to cover the recently opened High Speed Line from Ringsted to just outside København.

With an hour or so to spare at Vejle, a chance to take some photos of both InterCity and Regional services.

Seen here are a pair of MF 3-car IC3 DMUs introduced in 1989 on InterCity services and are still in use in Denmark 30 years later. Sets 5052 with 5075 behind are seen on train IC51152, 10:42 Aarhus to København Lufthavn on 7 September 2019.
