Description
English: Early version of DING HAO with smaller, plainer aircraft name. Squadron artist Will Louie posing painting third swastika on Jim Howard's aircraft which, based on claims for aircraft destroyed in Howard's autobiography "Roar of the Tiger", dates the photo to 4 or 5 Jan 1944. Jim Howard is in the cockpit. Zooming in, the serial number is barely readable.
