Summary edit

Description
English: The mid-century modern features of the Douglaston Long Island Rail Road station are on respectful display along the north parking lot of the Woodside-bound tracks in the Douglaston section of Queens, New York City. The building replaced an elaborate Queen Anne/Late Victorian 2 ½ story station house that deteriorated by the mid-20th Century, and was designed by a local architect. Such a move in the latter half of the 20th Century would've invited public outcry, even if they found out the previous structure had been unsafe. The ticket vending machines are a 1990's-based addition.
