English: Carved marble decor elements that were part of a frieze made during the Imperial Golden Age. These represent respectively the departure of Rome by the Trajan army for his campaign against the Dacians, the central medallion of the "Ingressus" or "The entry into Rome" finally Roman riders guided by the emperor pursuing the Dacians conquered by his army, all these elements being reused to adorn the eastern side of the Arch of Triumph of Constantine in Rome (315 AD).
Français : Éléments de décor en marbre sculpté ayant fait partie d’une frise réalisée pendant l'Âge d'Or impérial. Ceux-ci représentent respectivement le départ de Rome de l’armée de Trajan pour sa campagne contre les daces, le médaillon central dit de l’« Ingressus » ou de « L’entrée dans Rome » enfin des cavaliers romains guidés par l’empereur poursuivant les daces vaincus par son armée, tous ces éléments étant réemployés pour orner le côté est de l’arc de triomphe de Constantin à Rome (315 apr. J.-C.). |
