| Description |
A large part of 2021's trip was covering many dead end branches in south eastern Romania. Until around 15 years before this visit, passenger services were all in the hands of state run CFR. Since then, private operators have taken over many routes. Many acquired 2nd hand diesel railcar sets (which were in good condition) from countries like France, Germany and the Netherlands. Transferoviar Călător (TFC) have gone largely for ex-DB (Germany) and NS (Netherlands) stock. The first branch covered was the 73 km long one from Buzău to Nehoiașu. Taking over two hours, it was effectively a whole afternoon. Seen at Buzău on 10 September 2021 is former DB class 614 set now now classified class 76 which is shared with other 2nd hand stock types. Closest to the camera is 761422 with trailer 591422 and 761462 at the rear. Train R15357, 13:33 Buzău to Nehoiașu. |
