| Description |
English: You can hear the warning bell of the Jackson St. Bridge as a 11-barge tow is shoved under it. This is a rather big tow for this part of the Des Plaines River. The comment is not mine; others were standing by the gate to watch the tow go by. This tow can not go much past Romeoville because the canal becomes narrow because barges are "parked" in the canal by docks. Also, the towboat is too big to fit under the Lemont Sante Fe RR Bridge. |
