Description U.S. Marine Corps Maj. Gen. John M. Croley, right, the commander of U.S. Marine Corps Forces, South, and Barbados Defense Force Chief of Staff Col. Alvin Quintyne cut a ribbon to mark the opening of a small craft pier June 19, 2012, in Bridgetown, Barbados. The U.S. Naval Facilities Engineering Command completed the pier in May in preparation for exercise Tradewinds 2012. Tradewinds is a chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff-directed, U.S. Southern Command-sponsored joint/combined annual exercise designed to improve cooperation and interoperability of partner nations in responding to regional security threats.
