Description
English: OKUNOSHIMA, JAPAN. CANISTERS AND BOXES FILLED WITH THE DEADLY GAS, DYPHENYLCYNARSINE. THEY CAN BE DESTROYED ONLY BY BURIAL AS THEY ARE BUOYANT. TUNNEL ENTRANCES WILL BE SEALED BY THE CONSTRUCTION OF WALLS SIX FEET THICK AFTER WHICH THE TUNNELS WHICH WILL BE FLOODED WITH SEA WATER AND HYPERCHLORITE WHICH, IN THE COURSE OF TIME, WILL DESTROY THE CANISTERS AND NEUTRALISE THE GAS. THIS IS PART OF OPERATION LEWISITE TO REMOVE AND DESTROY POISON GAS (MAINLY MUSTARD AND LEWISITE) FROM THE TOKYO 2ND ARMY ARSENAL.
