Summary edit

Description These buildings are along 14th Street in Cincinnati's Pendleton neighborhood, across the street from the Cutter Playground, part of the campus of the old Woodward High School that resulted from the demolition of a block of similar buildings in the mid-20th Century. These buildings are mostly examples of the vernacular Second Empire style, which date to the latter half of the 19th Century, while one building in this photo set is Italianate and two are Greek Revival. The majority of these buildings are rowhouses, with the exception of two conjoined structures, one Italianate and one Greek Revival, which are walk-up type apartment buildings. These buildings are fine examples of the vernacular architecture found throughout the city, and display the craftsmanship and beauty the city's large stock of historic buildings contain.
