Description15th MEU Marine of the Week 150704-M-NA953-001.jpg |
English: GULF OF ADEN (July 4, 2015) U.S. Marine Sgt. Maj. Douglas Schaefer, left, takes a photo with the 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit’s “Marine of the Week” awardee Lance Cpl. Ezekiel J. Dixon aboard the amphibious assault ship USS Essex (LHD 2). Schaefer is the sergeant major of the 15th MEU and Dixon is a supply administrative clerk and secondary repairable clerk with Combat Logistics Battalion 15, 15th MEU, from Shalimar, Fla. Dixon’s devotion to development and military occupational specialty proficiency is considered well above that of his peers. He is in charge of all secondary repairable exchanges within the 15th MEU. He is directly responsible for all backorders and restocking of all consumed items, and that requires coordination and vast attention to detail. To date, Dixon has retrograded and exchanged over $1.5 million in parts, including consumed items. The 15th MEU is embarked on the Essex Amphibious Ready Group and deployed to maintain regional security in the U.S. 5th Fleet area of operations. (U.S. Marine Corps photo by Staff Sgt. Miguel Carrasco/Released) |
