English: This home at 1690 Arlington Avenue belonged Herbert Sherwood Warwick, who lived there with his wife, the former Hazel Ruth Hain, and children, Herbert Sherwood, Jr. and Mary Elizabeth. In his earlier years, H. S. Warwick was a high school English teacher and a traveling salesman. He was also the first full-time secretary of the Ohio State Alumni Association and, in 1913, founded the Association of Alumni Secretaries, predecessor to the Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE). CASE's yearly H. S. Warwick Research Award recognizes exceptional writing in philanthropy, communications, and alumni relations. Warwick was fondly referred to as "Dave" and was the business manager of the Norwester magazine as well as Vice President and Director of Sales for the Upper Arlington Company. He was also an active participant in the Rotary Club, the Upper Arlington baseball club, the Boy Scout Council, the Y.M.C.A., and the War Camp Community Service.
