Description 180317-N-VJ282-348 NAVAL STATION ROTA, Spain (March 17, 2018) – Vice Adm. Lisa Franchetti, commander, U.S. 6th Fleet, operates a bucket loader during a visit to Naval Station Rota, Spain, March 17, 2018. During her first visit to the installation since she assumed command of U.S. 6th Fleet, Franchetti participated in a capabilities exhibition, met with Spanish navy leadership and visited the Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS Ross (DDG 71) to speak with their leadership and crew. U.S. 6th Fleet, headquartered in Naples, Italy, conducts the full spectrum of joint and naval operations, often in concert with allied and interagency partners, in order to advance U.S. national interests, security and stability in Europe and Africa.
