U.S. 5TH FLEET AREA OF OPERATIONS (May 23, 2018) A Sailor fires an L131 pencil flare on the bridge wing of the guided-missile destroyer USS Arleigh Burke (DDG 51). Arleigh Burke is deployed as part of the Harry S. Truman Carrier Strike Group. With USS Harry S. Truman (CVN 75) as the flagship, deployed strike group units include staff, ships and aircraft of Carrier Strike Group (CSG) 8, Destroyer Squadron (DESRON) 28 and Carrier Air Wing (CVW) 1; as well as the Sachsen-class German navy frigate FGS Hessen (F221).
