Zu der Prägung vermerkte das besitzende Niedersächsisches Landesmuseum Hannover:

„Die Medaille hat keine Öse für ein Band. Es handelt sich also nicht um einen Orden oder eine tragbare Medaille, sondern um eine kunstvoll gestaltete Sonderzahlung in Gold.“
