Description
English: This is a 1/43 scale collector model of the steam tractor/trailer combination that won the 1894 Paris-Rouen contest, but was relegated to 2nd place afterwards.

The "Remorqueur à vapeur" was manufactured by De Dion-Bouton, the "Victoria" trailer was made of a carriage. This is is one of the earliest application of a "fifth wheel" combination.

In the contest, the vehicle was driven by the count Jules-Albert de Dion and engineer Georges Bouton. The trailer was occupied with three persons, among them de Dions father, the Marquis de Dion. The vehicle won in front of two gasolene cars, but was relegated to 2nd place, as the jury found it less easily operable and more expensive than these.
