Description
Nederlands: Detail van een kaart van de omgeving van Maastricht door Joseph de Ferraris (1726–1814). De ferrariskaarten beperken zich in principe tot het grondgebied van de toenmalige Oostenrijkse Nederlanden en het Prinsbisdom Luik. Om die reden is de oostelijke Maasoever (grotendeels behorend tot de Hollandse Republiek) minder gedetailleerd weergegeven. NB: de kaart bevat diverse fouten. Het gehucht Caberg ligt te dicht bij Maastricht. Het dorp Montenaken (tegenwoordig Vroenhoven) zou vlak bij Wolder ("Wilré") moeten liggen. Vlijtingen lijkt hier onderdeel van de Vroenhof, maar was in werkelijkheid de hoofdbank van de elf banken van Sint-Servaas. Heer en Keer zijn eveneens banken van Sint-Servaas (en geen redemptiedorpen, zoals aangegeven).
De kaart is bewerkt door Kleon3 om de verschillende rechtsgebieden rondom Maastricht aan te geven. Groen gemarkeerd: de heerlijkheid Pietersheim. Geel: het graafschap van de Vroenhof. Oker: de heerlijkheid Sint Piter. Groen omcirkeld zijn vijf rechtsgebieden, waarvan de exacte grenzen niet bekend zijn. 1. bank Heugem (Gronsveld?); 2. bank Heer (Sint-Servaaskapittel); 3. bank Meerssenhoven (Valkenburgs/Brabants); 4. bank Borgharen (Valkenburgs/Brabants); 5. bank Itteren (Valkenburgs/Brabants).
