  • Significance: 185-D, 189-D and 190-D, building in what is commonly known as the 190-D complex, were completed in December, 1944 in conjunction with the start-up of D-Reactor. (190-DA, 195-D, and 1724-DA, the other facilities in the 190-D complex, were added later.) D-Reactor was one of three production reactors constructed at Hanford during the Manhattan Project and the Second World War. Two buildings in the 190-D complex, 185 and 189-D, have been determined eligible for the National Register of Historic Places due to their significant role in nuclear reactor technology in the D-Reacto complex. While 190-D, 190-DA, 195-D and 1724-DA individually are not eligible for the Register, collectively they have significance due to their structural proximity and common functional elements with 185/189-D.
