Description
English: The steering gear of the 1906 Beyer Peacock 40 HP steam lorry. This is a single vehicle made by locomotive manufacturers Beyer, Peacock & Co. of Manchester for their own use. The designer was Henry Albert Hoy (1855-1910). The vehicle is described in The Engineer, Vol. 101, p. 216-217. Hoy built a first steam lorry in 1901, and made a few more for Beyer, Peacock in 1903-1904, using a Ackermann steering gear of own design
