Description
English: 1931 postcard photo of Allentown High School, shown with the 1930 annex building. The school opened in 1916 during a period of rapid growth in the city. When constructed, it was one of the largest high schools in Pennsylvania. The school was renamed William Allen High School in 1961 to honor the city's founder, William Allen. The school has produced many notable graduates, including CEOs, political leaders, and state championship sports teams.
