Description

The MG was introduced in 1923, a sporting division of Morris Motors. Morris merged with Austin in 1952 to form BMC (British Motor Corporation). Morris, Austin, Wolseley, Riley and MG. The Magna and Magnette MG's early were 6 cylinder sports cars (the 4 inch shorter Midget was MG's 4 cylinder sports car) Models built were; The 1931-32 F-Type Magna (12/70), 37hp 1271 cc twin SU 6 cyl from the Wolseley Hornet, sloping radiator, cycle guards. F1; open 4 seater, or closed coupe, F2; open 2 seater, F3; improved F1 with better cooling and better brakes. The 1932-34 K-type Magnette, stronger chassis, wider track, vertical radiator. Engines; KA; 39hp 1087cc triple SUs, KB; 41hp 1087cc twin SUs, KC; 120hp supercharged 1087cc. KD; 49hp 1271cc. Bodies; K1; open 4 seater or saloon, K2; open 2 seater, K3; 2 seat race version The 1933-34 L-Type Magna, narrow chassis, 41hp 1086cc 6 cyl, sloping radiator, sweeping guards. L1; open 4 seater, coupe or saloon, L2; open 2 seater.

The 1934-36 N-type Magnette, 56hp 1271cc 6 cyl, new chassis, taller body, sloping radiator. Open 2 or 4 seater and coupe. 1934 ND; lightweight 2 seat 68hp race version. 1935 NB; lower lines, vertical slats on grille, front hinged doors (NA honeycomb and rear hinged)
