| Description |
The 7W Ten was built in the UK in 1937 and 1938. The engine, gearbox and suspension was still the same as the previous model, the Model C Ten, but rather than following the design of the US Fords, as the C Ten and earlier Model Y did, the new 7W got the attractive new UK designed body. The 7W was the first of this popular shape. The update in 1939, was called the Prefect in 4 door form and Anglia in 2 door form. It went through many facelifts and improvements until replaced by the next shape Prefect and Anglia in 1953, the 100E. The 7W ten was available in 2 and 4 door, it had this unique grille, similar to the later 1949-53 E494A Anglia and the 1953-59 103E Popular, but divided into three sections rather than the Anglia and Populars two.
