Seen at Imperial Palace Auto Collection, Las Vegas, Nevada, over the Fourth of July weekend 2010, and for sale for $45,000. The Traction Avant, whose name simply means "Front Wheel Drive," put Citroën on the map as a leader in front wheel drive automobiles, the most typical layout today. The Traction Avant was introduced in the early 1930s, and remained in production until the introduction of the DS in the 1950s. It is considered one of the most successful Citroën models ever. Citroën was known for innovation in its heyday, and this Traction Avant, with a top speed of 62 MPH, could easily get 25 MPG, comparable to modern cars. |
