Summary edit

Description

The Standard Eight , a small car, was produced by the British Standard Motor Company from 1938-59. Originally launched in 1938 as the Flying Eight. After the Second World War they were called the 8 hp. The only major difference with the post war cars was a 4 speed gearbox, the absence of bonnet louvres on the 8 hp model provided visual differentiation from the pre-war Flying Eight. Available in 2 door Saloon, Tourer, Drophead Coupe and Estate.
